A manufactured home is not a house to an insurer
Manufactured and park-model homes are written on dedicated forms with their own valuation rules, their own requirements about tie-downs and skirting, and their own treatment of transport. A standard homeowners quote simply does not apply, and discovering that during a claim is the expensive version.
Owning the home but renting the lot
In a land-lease community the park owns the ground and you own the structure. That splits responsibility in ways that surprise people after wind or fire damage, and the park's policy does not extend to your home or your belongings.
Wind, and what is tied down
Monsoon wind is the characteristic loss here, and carriers care a great deal about anchoring, awnings, carports and add-on rooms. Those additions are frequently uninsured because nobody mentioned them when the policy was written.
