Riding on the state minimum
Arizona requires 25/50/15. A single hospital stay after a freeway collision passes $25,000 quickly, and anything above the limit comes out of the at-fault driver's own assets.
Grades on Interstate 17, elk on Highway 89, and monsoon hail that finds every parked car in Yavapai County. We write auto policies around how Arizonans actually drive.

Cline Mountain Insurance is a local Arizona agency serving families and businesses across the state, backed by trusted, nationally recognized carriers.
Most of these only surface after an accident, which is precisely the wrong time to learn about them.
Arizona requires 25/50/15. A single hospital stay after a freeway collision passes $25,000 quickly, and anything above the limit comes out of the at-fault driver's own assets.
Carriers must offer it and drivers can decline it in writing. Plenty of people declined without registering that they had, and then get hit by someone carrying nothing.
Dropping comprehensive to save a few dollars a month removes the exact coverage that answers for monsoon hail, a cracked windshield, a stolen car, and an elk at dusk.
A personal policy generally stops the moment the app goes on. The gap between phases of a trip is real, and it is fixed cheaply with an endorsement.
A licensed teen in the household needs to be on the policy whether or not they own a car. Discovering the omission during a claim is an expensive way to handle it.
Hauling tools, visiting job sites, and making deliveries are business use. Personal forms exclude it, and the exclusion is applied at claim time.
Six coverages do nearly all the work. Knowing which one answers which situation is most of what people want from an agent.
Pays medical costs and legal fees when you injure someone in an at-fault accident. Arizona's floor is $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident, which is a legal minimum rather than a recommendation.
Repairs or replaces the other party's vehicle or property when the fault is yours. The state floor is $15,000, which does not replace a late-model truck.
Repairs your own vehicle after hitting another car or an object, regardless of who caused it. Rollovers are included.
Answers for almost everything that is not a collision: hail, theft, vandalism, fire, flood, falling branches, and animal strikes. In monsoon country it is the coverage most likely to get used.
Covers you and your passengers when the at-fault driver has no insurance or not enough. Arizona carriers must offer it, and you may reject it in writing.
Pays medical bills for you and your passengers regardless of fault, with no wait for a liability determination. Useful in the first weeks after a crash.
Three things come up in nearly every auto conversation in this part of the state:
Elk, deer, and javelina move at dawn and dusk on the roads between Prescott, Chino Valley, and the Verde Valley. An animal strike is a comprehensive claim, not a collision claim, which is one more reason dropping comprehensive is a false economy up here.
Summer storms dent hoods and crack glass across whole parking lots at once, and visibility on the interstate can fall to nothing in minutes during a dust event. Both sit under comprehensive coverage.
An insurer offering comprehensive in Arizona has to offer glass replacement with no deductible. It is an election, not a default, and on gravel-shoulder highways it is one of the more useful things on the policy.
Auto is the policy people shop most and understand least. Three things we do differently.
We read your current declarations page before quoting, because the fastest way to look cheap is to quietly drop a coverage you already had. If our number comes in lower, we will tell you exactly which line moved and why.
Uninsured motorist and no-deductible glass are two elections that get skipped on a rushed online quote, and both matter disproportionately on Arizona highways. We raise them every time rather than waiting to be asked.
A household with a new teen driver, a truck, and a car is a rating puzzle, not a form. Which vehicle each driver is assigned to can move the total meaningfully, and working that out is the part a website does not do.
Send the drivers and the vehicles. If you have your current declarations page, the comparison gets exact.
Names, dates of birth, and the vehicles is all we need to get started on a real number.

Danny got me and more importantly my family taken care of if something happened to me. Highly recommend, great guy.
The best part of doing business with Jack and his team is that I feel taken care of. The experience is genuine. I dont feel pushed or sold. I just feel taken care of. Great work Cline Mtn Team :)
Arizona requires liability limits of 25/50/15: $25,000 of bodily injury coverage per person, $50,000 per accident, and $15,000 for property damage. Those figures took effect on July 1, 2020, raising the older and much lower minimums.
That is the legal floor for registering a vehicle, not a coverage recommendation. With current vehicle prices and medical costs, a serious accident passes those numbers without much difficulty, and the remainder is the at-fault driver's personal problem.
We recommend it in nearly every case. Arizona carriers are required to offer uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage, and you are allowed to reject it, but the rejection has to be in writing precisely because it matters.
Liability coverage pays other people when you cause harm. Uninsured motorist coverage pays you and your passengers when somebody else causes harm and cannot pay for it. Per dollar it is consistently one of the better values on the policy.
Not automatically, and the word free does some work there. Arizona law requires an insurer offering comprehensive coverage to also offer glass replacement coverage with no deductible. You have to elect that option; carrying comprehensive alone does not give it to you.
Worth two minutes on your declarations page. Highway chip damage is common enough here that the election usually pays for itself.
Collision answers when your vehicle hits something: another car, a guardrail, a pole. Comprehensive answers for nearly everything else, including hail, theft, fire, vandalism, flood, and animals.
Hitting an elk on Highway 89 is a comprehensive claim even though it certainly felt like a collision. That distinction decides which deductible applies and, with some carriers, whether the claim counts against you the same way.
Generally no. Most personal auto policies exclude coverage while a rideshare or delivery app is running, and the platform's own coverage changes depending on whether you are waiting for a request, en route to a pickup, or carrying a passenger.
The middle phase is where people find the gap. A rideshare endorsement closes it and costs far less than most drivers assume. Tell us if you drive for any platform and we will write around it.
Auto rates respond to repair costs more than to any single driver. Sensors in bumpers, cameras in windshields, and aluminum body panels have made moderate collisions much more expensive to fix, and severe weather losses feed back into what everyone pays.
What you control: the deductible, the bundle, the mileage you report, and whether an outdated discount fell off. That is worth an annual review rather than a shrug at renewal.
Bundle it with a home or renters policy, raise the deductible to a number you could actually cover tomorrow, ask about a telematics program if you drive few miles and drive them carefully, and get a quote on a vehicle before you buy it. Two similar-looking trucks can price very differently.
The dishonest way is to quietly drop coverage and call the result a saving. It is not a saving, it is a bill you have deferred to a worse day.
Names, dates of birth, and the vehicles is all we need to get started on a real number.
