Course-side damage is frequent and small
Broken windows, damaged roof tiles and dented vehicles are routine on a fairway lot. Each claim is modest, each sits against a deductible, and a household that files every one of them quickly becomes a household with a claims history. Most owners absorb them and insure for the serious one.
Liability usually rests with the golfer, in theory
A player who hits a ball into your window may be responsible if they were negligent, and ordinary bad golf is frequently not negligence. The course may have its own position depending on design and warnings. In practice identifying and pursuing the player is impractical, which returns the matter to your own policy.
Glass is where the deductible decides everything
Replacing a large window in a high-value house can approach or exceed a typical deductible on its own. Knowing your deductible and whether glass is treated separately is the practical question on a course-side property.
